Good News About CTE

January, 2014 - Hoosier Hills

Three years ago, students in the Automotive Technology class were introduced to a Land Space Races team who compete at the famed Bonneville Salt Flats.  The students were asked to do some engine work on the 1932 Ford, and it set a new record.  Now the students continue to work on card for the Land Space Races, but also have begun designing and building a race bike for the East Coast Timing Association in Ohio.  Students in the Drafting class completed blueprints of the bike; students in Welding and Machining assisted with the framework; students in Auto Body did the paint and body work; and the project was finished with the performance engine work.   They have competed in several races this semester, and plan to compete again in May.
